Purple Flowers: Wedding Floral Designs

Purple flowers come in many tones, and sometimes it is difficult to match fabric and flowers. Purple tones range from blue to pink, but tend to be on the cool side of the spectrum. Purple, lavender, plum, amethyst, lilac, wisteria, violet, and mauve all describe this color family. A color swatch may be helpful to make clear an idea you wish to convey to your designer. It can be impossible to match paint to flowers exactly, but you can get the general idea across with a paper sample.

Andrea: Lavender and purple tones for flowers and paper.  Purple tones ranged from soft lavender to dark purple. Lavender, purple and deep dark purple mini calla lilies, purple spotted mocara orchids, lavender roses, cream lisianthus and white orchids. For bridesmaids: lavender freesia, cream roses, light purple mini calla lilies. Reception tables, tent and cake continued with the purple tones using antique purple hydrangea, orchids, roses and delphinium.

Tricia: Roses in cool lavender roses, antique purple hydrangea, white roses and eucalyptus.

Stephanie: Pink and lavender. Brides Bouquet: Pink and lavender Dutch tulips, amethyst mini calla lilies, pink cymbidium orchids cuffed with shiny green leaves and a silk lavender ribbon. Bridesmaids bouquets: Pink mini calla lilies, pink and lavender Dutch tulips, pink & purple silk ribbon.
